Taiwan Local Food

Today, Irose and Mars took me to the nightmarket.Mars told me the nightmarket was the biggest feature of Taiwan. In the nightmarket, I saw the vendors sell less-expensive products, traditional goods and many kind of Taiwanese local snack. The foods looked so delicious that I wanted to eat it all but I couldn’t, so I just tasted some.

First, we had Stinky tofu. Irose said that it was a form of fermented tofu and had a strong odor and that its shape was square. It was put into a pan, dipped with the fermenting bean curd, and fried. Finally, the vendor would put some pickle on it. I found it very delicious.

Than I felt thirsty, so we went to the tea shop to buy some drinks. I ordered the Tapioca milk tea. I knew that it was the most famous beverages in Taiwan and I’d love it. Tapioca milk Tea originated from Taiwan. It was made of little tapioca balls that were boiled in black sugar and dropped in the milk tea. It tasted great no matter it was made cold or hot.

It was pretty late. We had to go home, but I still felt a little hungry. They took me to try the final local snack “Oyster omelet”. Mars said that it was his favorite food. Then he introduced the Oyster omelet to me. He said that the dish was made of an omelet with some small oysters and vegetables in it. It was very nutritious. Because time passed so fast, we had to go home. I was glad to walk around the nightmarket and eat many special local foods with Irose and Mars. It was a nice memory. Hope I can go to the nightmarket again..

The Christmas

Dear Friends :
I am Happy to share with yoou how I celebrate Christmas in Taiwan. This is my frist time to celebrate Christmas in Taiwan. Our school set up a Christmas tree in the hall, and play the Christmas music at lunch time.
we hold a party at which we exchange gifts with classmate. There are a lot of gifts. And the teacher of the Mechanical drafting department  also prepared some gifts for us. That was a lot of homeworks. In fact, he was just kidding. Everyone was relieved after that he said so. Someone will get funny gift such as five piece of bread, and balloons in special shape. It will make us laugh. That day, we will be in a cloud of Christmas. How do you celebrate in Tajik?

Dear Friends :
Even though Christmas is from western culture, we alos celebrate Christmas in Taiwan. This yoar, our class will hold a party in the classroom to celebrate Christmas. We will have  many interesting activities at the party. For example,  two of our classmates will sing love songs with a guitar and all of us will exchange gifts. On Christmas Eve, all the churches in Taiwan will hold Christmas party or prepare Christmas dinner for those who want to celebrate Christmas together.
A variety of shows will take place at these large banguets, such as a drama about Jenus and even draw lots activities. Each time when we celebrate Christmas in church, we can have Christmas day's feeling most. what are Christmas songs in Tajik? And what are customs about Christmas in Tajik? 

2010 TAIPEI INTERNATIONAL FLOEA EXPOSITION By Scott Wendy

      We are proud of the big event of 2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition held in Taiwan. We gained the permission of AIPH(International Association of Horticcultural Producer) because Taiwan is known for flowers.

      There are four garden suburbs and fourteen venues in Taipei Flora Expo. The main purpose is to make the Taiwaneses care about the enironment. Therefore, there are many green buildings such as the exhibition hall built of one hundred and fifty two million plastic bottles. The green buildings are with good ventilation so we do not need air-conditioning indoors.

      The wonderful miniature landscape and spectacular wood carving make people feel like staying in a future world. You will say, "wow!" Of course, you must try the flower tea. there are experts to show you how to brew the tea and how to drink the tea. To our surprise, we can watch images 3D without wearing special glasses. most significantly, you will learn our history the way of flora.

      We thank AIPH for this oppotunity and hope you can attend Taipei International Flora Exposition in Taiwan.

     After I read the post. I am eager to know how can I participate this international event. We live in southern Taiwan, so we need to spend few hours traveling to Taipei. I am attracted by Mayday’s Flora Expo music video, and S.H.E.’s cute Flora Expo dance. They are really interesting! My family decide to visit Taipei during the Lunar New Year holidays. I’ m wondering which museum will be less crowed, so I can save some time from lining up. If fortunately, maybe I can run across some super stars at the spot. I am happy that Taipei city government hosts this amazing event for the Taiwanese with 2010 TAIPEI INTERNATIONAL FLOEA EXPOSITION. I realize that Taiwan is capable enough to hold such international high quality event.

The weather in Kaohsiung

The weather in Kaohsiung changed dramatically recently. These days we didn't have a sunny day, but a rainy day because the rain season is coming. In this season, maybe it is rainy in the morning, but later it will be sunny. The weather always makes us feel uncomfortable and sweat. The weather in Taiwan is very different from that in America,and Kaohsiung is in the subtropical region, so when the sun come out ,the temperature usually rises above 28'C. (In different time of the day, the weather changes rapidly big.) But when the winter is coming, it becames cold and we usually don't have rain for a long time. With the climate change, the weather in Kaohsiung becomes very strange in winter, and summer is long and the spring is short.

Do the volunteer job

One day, I did the volunteer job to clean the National Defence Education Classroom with 紹宇、振廷with宇翔. When we went into the National Defence Education Classroom, we felt very hot and began to sneeze because the air overthere was not fresh and filled with dust. Needless to say,we had to open the window first. Then,we discussed in a minute and we decided to sweep the floor first and then mopped it. After we mopped the floor,we saw the books on the bookshelf which were very messy, so we arranged all the books to make them look tidy. A few minutes later, we finished all the chores and we felt satisfied because the classroom was looked like a new room to anyone who had never come here. In the end, we turned off the lights fans and close the windows and the door. Then we went back to our classroom. It's really a special experience to me. I've never done a volunteer service before.

I used the machine.

On May 22th,耘萱,姿萍,怡葶 and 雅茵 took me to National Science And Techonology Museum.I saw many people taking a walk and visiting the museum.At first,they bought 4 entrance tickets with NT$280,and I didn't need a ticket.We went to Children's Science Center.耘萱 brought me to climb rocks and played games.Achild saw me and stared at me for a while.I wanted to play with him,but he seemed to be fearful of me.After that,we went to Power And Machines.There were a lot of gear wheels and machines.Those components looked complex to me. 耘萱,姿萍,怡葶 and 雅茵 hoped I could know those because those were in their professional field.

I ate spaghetti for lunch.

            I were collecting the receipts with them.      

             
After we visited the National Science And Techonology Museum,we went to a spaghetti shop to have lunch.When we took the MRT,there were two little sisters looking at me.They seemed to like me,and then took pictures with me.I was so happy.Arriving at the destination,I looked at the shop that was a little smaller than other shops,and the boss was nice to us;most importantly,it provided free onion thick soup and the customers could drink the drinks to their heat's content,which was good for 耘萱.We ate happily and full.Then,after 雅茵 and 怡葶 left first,耘萱,姿萍 and I walked to the 光南 grocery store on the San-do road.When 耘萱 and 姿萍 finished shopping,we walked to the oppsite SOGO Department Store's MacDonald, 耘萱 and 姿萍 ordered two cups of drink for rest and enjoyed the heart-to-heart talk.After nearly an hour,we took the MRT again to go to meet 鈺雯 and 琳凱 because they were collecting the receipts at the gate for charity of TALee's department store.They finished collecting the receipts at four o'clock.Then,姿萍 brought me to her home.Everybody could see I was very happy.I lay down on the bed which 姿萍 prepared carefully for me, which is really comfortable.

This is our robot, rainie.It's first function is the socket on the hat. Second, there are two loudspeaker at right and left. And it's buckhorns can be clothes stand that's third. Fourth, we assemble a LED light under the hat. Fifth, in this robot's hand got a USB port. It can read your MP4 then pass through the loudspeaker we can listen to the music. Sixth, there is a baker behind the hat.It's like 3.5 disk. And the final function is the Shredder.

Home Life!!!!

Wednesday

   

  Last Wednesday, I went to Ray’s home to experience his home life, which meant Ray took me home, and we did everything he usually did at home together! It was a fresh experience!

                                    ( I was sitting on the footrest of his mom’s scooter.)

  That day we stayed at school studying and playing basketball. We left school at 9:30 at night. Ray’s mom took us home. I was sitting on the footrest of his mom’s scooter. On the way home, I went through the scenery that Ray saw every day. The wind blew gently into my face, but the weather was very stuffy. The summer in Kaohsiung is very hot! I should get used to it or I would feel uncomfortable every day.

   

  Soon later, we got home eventually. Ray lived in the department building. His home was small but warm! His mom and day were kind to me. Although we were home late, there were many things we had to do together. After Ray took a bath, he started his computer, preparing to do his mechanical drafting homework which was very hard and complicated. Finishing his homework, he started doing math exercise because there would be a math exam the next day. After Ray finished whole things he had to do, we went to bed at 12:00. We were so tired, but we would have to get up at 5:30 the next morning!

To sum up, I had a funny experience at Ray’s home – I fought with Ray’s robot!

    

Thursday

    Today, I visited Con Con’s home, I was so happy because I could play

Play Station 3 video game. When I came to Con Con’s home, his brother questioned me who I was, I said that I was from Taitung and my name was Rainbow.

“Nice to meet you,” I said. I was very polite. Then Con put me on his table in the room.

While Con Con was taking a bath, I watched his room. Wow! It’s big. There were a lot of books, albums, magazines, and a guitar. It was so cool that he could play the guitar.  After he took a bath , he had dinner with his family. The atmosphere was so warm that it almost made me cry. After playing the bloody video game, I am happy because I like it!

  Suddenly I heard the music of the dust cart. Oh!! Con Con was responsible for taking out the garbage to the dust cart. He was considerate to help with the housework. At eight o’clock, when he went to the room and sat down the chair reading English, I was bored

  At ten o’clock, I was tired and Con Con was, too. So he took me to sleep. I am happy today and thank you, Con Con for giving me a different day.

Friday and Weekend

  Last Friday, my classmate Jack took me back to his home. His family gave me a big hand and invited me to drink tea and talk about what I had gone through at school and my life in National Taitung Senior High School. Later, Jack’s parents took me to a fancy and gorgeous restaurant. After dinner, we went to Eslite book store and read some books there. After we went back to Jack’s home, Jack and I finished doing Math exercise and English homework. When we finished doing homework, we helped his mother clear up the floor. The next day, we had breakfast in the neighborhood of Jack’s home. And then, we went to the library to study until 2:00 pm. After we left the library, we rode a bike together to the baseball practice gym to practice throwing and hitting baseball. We spent the whole afternoon there. When we dragged our weary bodies home, we expected Jack’s mom would cook a luxuriant dinner for us. When Jack’s mom served dishes on the table, we could not stop our mouth from watering. Jack’s mom said, “I was thinking about what I should cook for you all days along.”  I was so surprised to hear that. When dinner was over, Jack’s parents took a walk chatting with me. During the chat, I appreciated their kindness of taking care of me for these two days.

On April 21, 2010, and today Jian Fang-ting, Jhu Yun-syuan, Guo Wun-kai and I went to the principal's office to visit the principal of KIHS.

1.What expectation do you have on the student in KHIS？Cognitive learning, attitude of life. I expect each student to study happily, towards their future goals.

2.What about KIHS are you proud of？Outstanding performance in national competition, behaving well at school. The number of students admitted to top golleges is increasing.
3.What do you want Rainbow to learn in KIHS？I hope Rainbow tan learn lively, mutual assistance and cooperation, learning the vitality, and hope that with Rainbow, the students in our schools can learn about Taitung..
4.What do you want to say to the student in National Taitung Senior High School？National Taitung Senior High School is the best high school in Taitung. I wish it will be the top high school in Taitung.

Tour on campus

Today I was invited by Yu-Ting Su, Pei-Yu Huang and Ying-Hui Ji to visit the campus of KIHS.
The first place is the gate of the school. Students go to school by bus or on foot must pass through it. I usually fly but I do not know how to fly through the school gate. Can you design a school gate in the air? There is a large sculpture next to the gate. It was made by Mr. Wu, Kuan-ying, one of the holders Guinness Woeld records. I heard from someone that it prevented evil monsters from danaging male workers weapons! When I walked into the school gate, there was a huge building on the left. That was the activity center. The weekly meeting is held there. But the air conditioning is poor, so we were sweating all over during the assembly. Behind the playground there is a "sad place", －theswimming pool. Although it is very comfortable to go swimming in summer. I am afraid of it. I have short hands and short legs, so I can not touch the bottom of the pool. I can only float on the water. Finally, there is the building where we spent most our time at school－Technical Education Building. The teachers inMechanical Drafting department, but are very strict. It is a very suitable place to study. Today, Yu-Ting Su and Fon-Taine Jane talk to me. There was a Science Exhibition. One of the project was a house with solar panels on it called “sphere construction”. This was new to me.

Our school life in KIHS

Do you know what day it is? Today is our science fair promulgate in Kaohsiung. I’m was exciting. Because this is my first time to join their activity with MD100 A.
Look! We’re in KRTC(Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Corporation). The gir who next to me named Mavis. This week I will stay with her. She promise me take me to everywhere we can have good memory. Oh, I forgot to say we have the other friend named Apple. (He is a boy). After we left KRTC. We take a shuttle bus(接駁車) R28.
We chat all on the way at fist. I also appreciating the view in Kaohsiung. Mavis tell me it is unfortunately. Because there is cloudy day. She tell me the sun is pretty beautiful in Kaohsiung.
Hey there are so many people in NSATM. Final we met MD100A ‘s contestant. They are winners. I’m proud with them. And there are prepare some shows for us during the waiting-time.
Talking about the day. After the science fair promulgate. We decide to look around NSATM (NATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY MUSEUM). But, before that. We all feel hungry very much. So we have a lunch in McDonald by foot.
Then we arrived McDonald. Their waitress deliver the snacks to our after we order. Everybody eating and talking happily. Food eaten up immediate. So I have to moving faster next time.Go Back to the NSATM (NATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY MUSEUM). We take pictures everywhere. And we play the machine in there. No matter where we are. We still feel happy.
I got a dark memory. That’s a one of their activity in the museum. Drawing bottles. A bottle pay for $30. So they draw one bottle for me. It is special thing to me. And I’m really love it. And it is really funny. If I have to say. That will take to long to write. Anyway, I am so tire but happy.


Today, I went science of electricity class .The class is a practice class .First, the teacher taught us the circuit’s alignment .And then, we could do the practice correctly and carefully.
Many electric wires had to be put on the right places and then the device could make a sound and light up the lights .You had to remember the places and how many electric wires you had they couldn’t be more or fewer.
I felt so proud of myself when I finished the work.

On Tuesday afternoon, I have a class named “mechanical of practice” with my classmates .Our teacher is Mr. Wu, he is a nice and interesting teacher. He told us about some mechanical things and how to fix the machine.
When I learned how to fix the machine, I usually did worse then others, although I always learned so hard.
When the class was over, I thanked my classmates and teacher, because they always taught and help me.

Welcome Party

Many days ago, I got on the train with my passport to Kaohsiung Industrial High School. When I got there this morning, people in class Mechanical Drafting 2A held a welcome party for me. People in this class looked so friendly, and nice. They also said I was so cute, and they all would like to make friends with me. By the way, they loved the local snacks I bought very much. They said it was the most delicious snacks they had ever had.




At the party, they showed What we would to do. They would not only introduce the school life in Mechanical Drafting of Department in Kaohsiung Industrial High School and teachers and their schoolwork, but also bring me to take the MRT to go to many beautiful and interesting places in Kaohsiung. I am looking forward to the coming tour.



After the end of the exam in the afternoon.,the teacher let us relax.We spent four periods on Wednesday afternoon for both Class A and B.there were two options choose from.First:We would hold a mini fair.Second:We could see a movie and have snacks cooked by the teacher.After the vote,we decided to choose the second one.Mr.Liu showed us two films.The first one was an inspiring video about a disabled student.After the movie,Mr.Liu asked all of us how we felt about it.The teacher then played the second movie “ THE LAST SAMURAI”.During the break,we had barbecued o-lan and o-lan soup prepared by Mr.Liu.WE ate happily.After the end of the movie.Mr.Liu said that activity was originally specifically for Class A.However
,we didn’t take it seriously and behave worse than Class B.Hearing this,wewere all depressed and frustrated.He then encouraged us to follow the example of the hero in the movie,but we were all silent.

Our homeroom teacher wedding

March 27,2010

The auspicious day was our homeroom teacher wedding.

We were fortunate to be selected to represent our class to participate in this fantastic wedding held in Kaohsiung Hanshin .

We had Mister Dount for our breakfast

and then we didn't go to ceremony until noon.

Everyone dressed up for the ceremony.

I also worn my uniform to attend the wedding .

The wedding bedan and the bride entered the wedding reception.

It was exciting to watch the attractive bride and handcome groom walk on the red carpet.

When the delicious dishes were served , everyone held thier chopticks ready to eat.

At the same time , the bride changed another formal clothes cna gave some candy yo us .

We gave our teacher a big present a big card .

At the end of the wedding , we take pictures with the bride and groom .

At last , we took the MRT to gey back home .

My farewell party

Today my classmates held a farewell party for me.

I will begin my new journey. First, I can go to experience nature air and simple country breath in Taitung. Second, I can go to Taipei to enjoy bustling life. Last, I will go to KSVCS where all different from KIHS to learn their thing.

I believe it will take a lot of experience and fun. Hope I can lot of things including pictures, presents and souvenirs from every school for my classmmates. That we better understand the lives of other school to achieve one of the purposes of this exchange.
